Dreadnoughts are big guitars, but far too often they lack clarity, especially in the bottom end, and often, as you play farther up the neck.
We’ve always spec’d our Dreadnoughts to be slightly less deep (at 4.375”) in the body than other companies, and we have chosen to build them a full 16” wide across the lower bout than their more usual 15-5/8” body width. These dimensions give the guitar the clarity and balance we prefer and make for a much more versatile instrument. This model has 14 frets clear of the body.
Our Dreadnought is every bit as powerful as its ancestors while having more flexibility and fewer limitations than its predecessors.
This featured DeLuxe Grade D-14 is East Indian rosewood and Adirondack (red) spruce. It is big, clear, and balanced. A stiff flatpick, thumb and fingerpicks, or bare fingers all work well on this guitar, making it a very versatile instrument that can deliver a powerful and broad dynamic range. Its ability to be strung with either light or medium gauge strings for this instrument can expand its range even further.
And one of the real joys of owning this guitar is going to be listening to its sound grow up and mature over the first year or so of its life in your hands. Given its starting point, this is going to be very satisfying, indeed!
