Featured Model C - sunburst and Carson engravings

We fully expect that every guitar we make is truly a very special instrument, built to a very high standard of excellence, an instrument of heirloom quality. But every so often we surprise ourselves, and a guitar turns out to be a real showstopper to everyone who plays it. This Model C is one of those guitars - rare even by our highest standards.

The Model C is a traditional 12 fret “Double 0” design. This one is a thoroughbred; 5A Brazilian rosewood, sunburst Adirondack top, Limited Grade ornamentation, with Glenn Carson engraved MOP #7 fretboard inlays and a newly re-designed headstock inlay done by Andy Mueller. It has an amazing versatility for a guitar this size. Highly responsive to the right hand, it has a huge palette of tonal color.

In a time when builders are searching everywhere for new gimmicks to make a brand new guitar sound like it’s forty years old, we still believe that the only way to really accomplish that goal is to build a guitar from truly old woods, and to build to proportions that will create that quality of sound. There are no tricks or shortcuts to doing this, and there are no shortcuts to experience. When you pick this guitar up and play the first few notes, that will be very clear.
